Strategies

So many new nonprofits start with heart but after the passion wanes from our families and friends, so do the donations, volunteers, and resources! Then what?

Then it is time to come up with some strategies. This may be an organizational strategy for the next 3 to 5 years. Or a Fund Development Strategy or Communications Strategy may be all you need. Whatever you require, we can assist your organization with strategies that allow you to focus on the activities needed to reach your goals.

Planning and Support

Discovery Phase

We will conduct an environmental scan of your organization and will benchmark your organization with similar sized non-profits, conduct focus groups/surveys, meet with your board and identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Deliverable Phase

Develop clear, measurable, and specific goals and objectives with potential strategies for achieving results. We will provide timelines and benchmarks for the plan and a process for evaluating progress toward achievment.

Support Phase

Should the plan identify areas within our capacity to support, we can provide assistance. This may include governance policy development, board engagement, digital organization or system training, program development, or other project execution and management.

Case Study

Carve Your Own Path started as a nonprofit wellness service to support the needs of those seeking optimal wellness through clinical mental health counseling, educational workshops, and consultation. They successfully launched, found a space, offered programming, and a global pandemic struck.

As things returned to normal, the founder realized that they needed some guidance and together we decided a strategic plan would be the way to start rebuilding in a post-COVID-19 world. As a nonprofit that promotes inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility, our research identified an overwhelming need for mental health support in the LGBTQ+ population. With this data in hand, the nonprofit had the information to demonstrate the need to potential funders for their services and wanted to revise how they provided services and sought financial support.

Without the strategic plan, the SWOT analysis, and the environmental scan of the organization, Carve Your Own Path may have missed an opportunity to fill a need in the Summit County community where they excel. Now they can move forward in a new direction to meet the mental health needs of the local LGBTQ+ population.
